Your Committee on Finance makes reference to the following
communication:
ii ' Communication 1540 - Sameshima v. Yamashiro
Civil No. 5438, Third Circuit Court
S .P. Nov 5018 , First Circuit Court
Communication 1540 from Corporation Counsel Stephen Menezes requests
the County Council ' s authorization to appropriate additional funds
for the special counsel contract in the above mentioned civil suit.
As indicated in Communication 1540 , additional funds are to be used
for final payment of Christopher McKenzie ' s services , special counsel
for Chairman Yamashiro, in completing the case.
On October 11, 1978 , Council Chairman Stephen Yamashiro was served
with complaints against him individually, and as Chairman of Hawaii
County Council, by Muneo Sameshima, individually and as Councilman of
Hawaii County Council, and on behalf of the Concerned Taxpayers of
Hawaii .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with Corporation Counsel ' s request
and recommends appropriation of the additional $1,323.36 .
The above action was adopted at the Committee meeting of
April 11, 1984 , by the following vote:
In Favor : Committee members Dahlberg, De Luz , Domingo,
Hale, Kawahara, Lai , and Schutte
Opposed: None
