Your Committee on Finance to which was referred Resolution 885-84
reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution 885-84 is to amend Section 8 .09 (e) of the
salary ordinance to add 20 new positions of Senior Community Services
Aid for the Elderly Activities Division of the Department of Parks
and Recreation .
Pursuant to Section 13-14 of the Hawaii County Charter , county
• employees , as well as board and commission members , must be paid in
accordance with a pay plan enacted by ordinance, except those whose
pay is otherwise provided for . Amendments to the pay plan must be
made by resolution of the Council .
The Hawaii County Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
was recently allocated additional Federal funds and is now eligible
to hire 20 temporary aids at an hourly rate of $3 .60 . Resolution
885-84 is necessary to allow for the hiring of these aids .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent and purpose •f
Resolution 885-84 and recommends its adoption.
