Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 916-84,
relating to tax rebates for taxicab operators, reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution 916-84 isto support the passage of a U. S.
Senate amendment which would extend the present four cents per gallon
tax rebate fortaxicab operators to September 30, 1985. The tax
rebate, initially set to expire on September 30, 1984, was
established' to 'increase taxicab ridership thereby reducing private
cars ' gasoline consumption, reducing traffic congestion, and
conserving energy.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent and purpose of

Resolution 916-84 and recommends its approval.
