Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 957-84,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution 957-84 is to authorize the lease-purchase
of a telephone system for the Puna District Police Station and to
assure that sufficient funds are budgeted in future fiscal years to
cover the obligation of the County under the lease agreement .
Resolution 957-84 was prepared pursuant to Section 10-11 of the
Hawaii County Charter which requires that any contract, lease of
other obligation requiring payment of funds from appropriations of a
later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made or
approved by resolution.
The telephone system for the Puna District Police Station, under this
agreement, would be leased by the County of Hawaii from Hawaiian
Communications Corporation for a 5-year period for sixty monthly
payments of ; 312.50 per month. The telephone system is one of the
improvements being made to the Puna station.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution
957-84 and recommends. its adoption.
