Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 967-84, '
reports as follows:
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Salary Ordinance may be made by resolution .
Resolution 967-84 amends Section 8 .04( f) , Real Property Tax
Division, and Section 8 .04(g) , Data Processing Division, Department
of Finance, of the 1984-85 Salary Ordinance as follows:
1. Reallocate one position of Real Property Tax Adminis-
trator EM-3 to County Real Property Tax Administrator
EM-5 .
2. Transfer one position of Code Enforcement Coordinator
SR-24 (Public Works ) and reallocate to Computer
Programmer III SR-18 (Finance) .
The reallocation in the Real Property Tax Division is necessary
because the administrator 's existing position description does not
accurately describe his duties and responsibilities. The
administrator heads the tax program and is responsible for
establishing uniform and equitable appraisal/assessment practices
county-wide. The annual cost increase will be 2, 448 to be funded
by the division ' s salaries and wages account .

The transfer of the Code Enforcement Coordinator position, currently
vacant, is being requested because the Data Processing Division needs
additional manpower to meet ongoing demands . This transfer and
reallocation will result in an annual savings of 15 , 136 .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 967-84 and recommends its adoption .
