Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 968-84,
reports as follows :
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Salary Ordinance may be made by resolution.
Resolution 968-84 amends Section 8.09(a) , Office of the Director of
Parks and Recreation, and Section 8 .09(b) , Recreation Division,
Department of Parks and Recreation, of the 1984-85 Salary Ordinance
as follows:
1. Reallocate one position of Assistant Account Clerk SR-8
to Account Clerk SR-10 .
2°. Transfer two positions of Swimming Instructor SR-ll
( 3/4 time ) to full time status .
The reallocation is requested because the Account Clerk in the
Department of Parks and Recreation has been assigned increased
fiscal duties and training responsibilities due to changes in the
department ' s organization. The annual cost increase will be 528 to
be funded from the Hawaii County Band salaries and wages account.

The change in time element of the Swimming Instructors is needed to
allow more beach and pool supervisory time by the East and West
Hawaii supervising lifeguards . The annual cost increase for this
action will be $6,768 to be funded from the Salaries Adjustment
Account under miscellaneous items in the General Fund.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 968-84 and recommends its adoption.
