Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 969-84,
reports as follows:
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Salary Ordinance may be made by resolution.
Resolution 969-84 amends Section 8.10, Fire Department, of the
1984-85 Salary Ordinance as follows:
1. Reallocate three positions of Fire Fighter SR-16 to
Fire Captain SR-24. e
2. Retitle one position of Driver Trainer SR-20 to Fire
Apparatus Trainer SR-20 .
The reallocations are necessary to provide supervisory personnel for
the Pahoa Fire Station to maintain a fully-manned station to service
the increased number of responses . The annual cost increase for
this action will be 120 ,700 funded from the Fire Protection salaries
and wages account. The retitling of the trainer position is
necessary to reflect the specific nature of the Fire Apparatus
Trainer position. This action will have no cost effect.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 969-84 and recommends its adoption.
