Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 970-84,
reports as follows:
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Salary Ordinance may be made by resolution.
Resolution 970-84 amends Section 8.11, Department of Civil Service,
of the 1984-85 Salary Ordinance, by reallocating one position of
Personnel Management Specialist III EM-1 to Labor Relations
Specialist EM-3. The reallocation is necessary to provide staff
assistance in collective bargaining negotiations. This position
will be responsible primarily for negotiations with Units 11 ( fire
fighters) and 12 (police officers) . The Specialist will also be
responsible for advising departments on classification and pay
matters. The annual cost increase will be $2, 304 funded by the
Civil Service salaries and wages account .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 970-84 and recommends its adoption .
