Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 971-84,
reports as follows:
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Salary Ordinance may be made by resolution.
Resolution 971-84 .amends Section 8 .12, Police Department, of the
1984-85 Salary Ordinance as follows:
1 . Reallocate one position of Senior-Clerk Stenographer SR-11
to Clerical Supervisor SR-12.
2. Retitle four positions of Records Clerk SR-11 to Police
Records Clerk-SR-11 .
3. Reallocate one position of Driver License Examiner-
Traffic Services Aid SR-15 to Driver License Examiner
SR-16.
4. Reallocate two positions of Driver License Examiner SR-15
to Driver License Examiner SR-16 .
This request establishes a clerical supervisor for the increased
number of clerk-stenographers within the department. The annual
cost increase of this reallocation will be $636.
The retitling of the Records Clerkositions are necessaryto

reflect the specific nature of the job. This action will have no
cost effect .

Reallocations to Driver License Examiner (SR-16) are necessary to
accompany applicants on road tests. This action will result in an
annual cost increase of 11,848 .
Funding for all action is from the police administration salaries and
wages and the Kona police salaries and wages accounts .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 971-84 and recommends its adoption.
