Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 972-84,
reports as follows:
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Salary Ordinance may be made by resolution.
Resolution 972-84 amends Section 8.15 , Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney, of the 1984-85 Salary Ordinance as follows :
1 . •Transfers one position of Deputy Prosecuting Attorney LG-1
from the Hawaii Career Criminal Prosecution Program (State
funded) to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney (County
funded) .
2 . Transfer one position of Deputy Prosecuting Attorney LG-1
from Organized Crime Unit (State funded) to the Office of
Prosecuting Attorney (County funded) .
3. Transfer one position of Deputy Prosecuting Attorney LG-2
from the Organized Crime Unit (State funded) to the Office
of the Prosecuting Attorney (County funded) and downgrade
to Deputy Prosecuting Attorney LG-1.

These amendments will correct a discrepancy which exists between the
budget and the salary plan regarding the funding source of these
positions. The positions, once State funded and now County funded,
have already been budgeted in the 1984-85 budget. The Salary
Ordinance must be amended to maintain consistency.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 972-84 and recommends its adoption.
