Your Committee on Finance , to which was referred Bill 344 , reports
as follows:
Bill 344 proposes to amend Ordinance 86-64 , the Capital Improvement
Budget for Fiscal Year 1986-87 , by adding the following project:
Department of Public Works
Kalapana Transfer Station Replacement $130 ,000
Funds for this project shall be provided from the fund balance of
the Bond Fund.
The funds are necessary to repair the Kalapana Transfer Station
which was destroyed by fire on February 26 , 1987 . The $130 ,000 will
only allow for the reconstruction of the station and does not
include any funds to replace containers .
Your committee heard testimony from the Kalapana Community
Association to support the appropriation of. funds for the Kalapana
Transfer Station.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill 344 and recommends that it pass first reading.
