Your Committee on Finance , to which was referred Resolution
No. 282-87 , reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution No . 282-87 is to amend the Salary
Ordinance as follows:
Section 8 .08 (e ) . WASTEWATER AND SOLID WASTE DIVISION. DEPARTMENT
OF PUBLIC WORKS
1 . Add one position of Civil Engineer IV SR-24.
2. Reallocate one position of Sewage Treatment Plant
Operator II WB-10 to Wastewater Treatment Plant
Operator II WB-11 .
The new position of Civil Engineer IV SR-24 is being requested to
coordinate the activities of the wastewater programs between State,
Federal , consultants and construction management . This request is
justified by increasing requirements in planning, design and
construction of wastewater facilities and new State and Federal
requirements to monitor funding.
The reallocation of one position of Sewage Treatment Plant Operator II
WB-10 to Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II WB-ll is necessary to
conform with regulations governing wastewater treatment plants . This
position will have direct responsible charge (DRC) of the Kailua
Wastewater Treatment Plant .
The Chief Engineer has certified to the availability of funds and the
Director of Finance has certified to the information and available funds .
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments to
the Pay Plan may be made by resolution .
