Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution
No . 260-87 , reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution No . 260-87 is to amend the Salary Ordinance
as follows :
Section 8 .08 (a ) . OFFICE OF THE CHIEF ENGINEER. DEPARTMENT OF
PUBLIC WORKS
1 . Reallocate oneP osition of Accountant IV SR-24 to
Administrative Officer SR-24 .
2 . Reallocate one position of Clerk-Stenographer SR-9 to
Senior Clerk-Typist SR-10 .
3 . Reallocate and change the status from temporary as
needed to permanent full time oneosition of Senior
Account Clerk (Temporary as needed)pSR-12 to
Clerk-Typist SR-8 .
The reorganization of the Office of the Chief Engineer has resulted
in the development of new duties which consolidated the functions of
fiscal, general clerical and personnel into an administrative
division . Classification of the Accountant IV position to
Administrative Officer will remain at the same level , SR-24 . Upon
approval of the exclusion of the position by the Hawaii Labor
Relations Board, the position will be converted to Administrative
Officer EM-1 .
As part of the reorganization, the department requests the
reallocations for the following:
Clerk-Stenographer SR-9 to Senior Clerk-Typist SR-10
Reallocate and change in status from temporary as needed to
permanent full time , a position of Senior Account Clerk (TAN)
SR-12 to Clerk-Typist SR-8 .
Availability of funds have been certified to by the Chief Engineer
and Director of Finance .

Pursuant to Section 3-14 , Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Pay Plan may be made by resolution .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution
