No. 259-87 , reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution No . 259-87 is to amend the Salary Ordinance
as follows :
Section 8 .09 (c ) . MAINTENANCE DIVISION. DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREAT ION
1 . Reallocate two positions of Building Maintenance Helper
WB-5 to Building Maintenance Repairer WB-9 .

Section 8 .09 (b ) . RECREATION DIVISION. DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION
1 . Add one position of Building Custodian I WB-2 (1/2 T)
FEDERAL/STATE/COUNTY-PROJECT FUNDED POSITIONS (EXHIBIT B)
Section 8 .09 (e ) to be changed to Section 8 .09 (f ) . ELDERLY

1 . Retitle one position of Director , Retired Senior
Volunteer Program SR-21 to Program Specialist (Elderly)

1 . Retitle one position of Nutrition Coordinator SR-21 to
Program Specialist ( Elderly ) SR-21 .
Coordinated Services
1 . Retitle one position of Information and Referral
Specialist SR-21 to Program Specialist ( Elderly ) SR-21 .

Senior Community Service Employment Program
1 . Retitle one position of Senior Employment Coordinator
SR-21 to Program Specialist (Elderly) SR-21 .
The reallocation of two Building Maintenance Helpers WB-5 to Building
Maintenance Repairer WB-9 will enable the department to expedite
repair work to County facilities . Both helpers have been deemed
qualified as repairers and capable of working independently. The
reallocation will provide for improved production and efficiency in
the building maintenance program.
The Recreation Division is proposing to create a 1/2 time Building
Custodian I WB-2 position . This position will take care of the
custodial needs at the new Honokaa Park Complex Gymnasium and Annex.
Resolution 259-87 also proposes to change the Elderly Activities
Division, Department of Parks and Recreation section in the Salary
Ordinance from Section 8 .09 (e ) to Section 8 .09 (f ) . Also proposed
is the retitling of the following positions :
Director , Retired Senior Volunteer Program SR-21
Nutrition Coordinator SR-21
Information and Referral Specialist SR-2l
Senior Employment Coordinator SR-21
to Program Specialist ( Elderly ) SR-21 .
Funds to accommodate the effected changes have been certified to by
the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance .
Pursuant to Section 3-14 , Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Pay Plan may be made by resolution .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution
No. 259-87 and recommends its adoption .
