Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution
No . 256-87 , reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution No . 256-87 is to amend the Salary Ordinance
as follows :
Section 8 .10 . FIRE DEPARTMENT
1 . Reallocate twoP ositions of Fire Captain SR-24 to
Battalion Chief EM-3 .
The reallocations will formalize the organizational structure of the
Fire Department, clearly defining the chain of command, thereby
eliminating confusion at the Fire Captain levels . The effective date
will be the date upon which approval of exclusion from the bargaining
unit is granted by the Hawaii Labor Relations Board .
Funds have been certified to by the Fire Chief and the Director of
Finance .
Pursuant to Section 3-14 , Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Pay Plan may be made by resolution . •
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution
No . 256-87 and recommends its adoption .
