Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 294, reports as
follows :
The Hawaii State Legislature enacted Act 342, 1986 SLH, changing the
minimum drinking age from 18 to 21 years. The purpose of Bill 294 is
to amend Chapter 13, Article 2, Section 13-8(a) ( 2) , of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 , to align our County Code definition of "minor" , as
applied for liquor law violations, to Act 342.
Your Committee on Finance concurs With the intent and purpose of
Bill 294 and recommends that it pass first reading.
