Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 277, reports as
follows :
Bill 277 proposes to amend Ordinance 86-63, the Operating Budget for
Fiscal Year 1986-87 , by increasing the General Fund Fund Balance from
Previous Year by $100,000 and appropriating same to Police Overtime
Conversion.
The purpose of Bill 277 is to convert compensatory time off due to
various Police Department employees into cost . Police employees
account for 67 percent of the total comp time due all County
employees . This proposal will allow the department greater
flexibility in managing its overtime,
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose of
Bill 277 and recommends that it pass first reading.
