Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Res. 239-87, reports
as follows :
The purpose of Resolution 239-87 is to amend the Salary Ordinance as
follows :
Section 8.12. POLICE DEPARTMENT
1 . Reallocate one position of Criminalist SR-21 to
Criminalist II SR-24.
2. Retitle two positions of Criminalist SR-21 to
Criminalist I SR-21.
The reallocation of Criminalist SR-21 to Criminalist II SR-24 is
justified on the basis that there is need for a senior worker to
provide training and on-the-job supervision. The Criminalist II will
serve as a technical worker and advisor in criminalistics problems.
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Pay Plan may be made by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 239-87 and recommends its adoption.
