Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Res. 236-87, reports
as follows:
The purpose of Resolution 236-87 is to amend the Salary Ordinance as
follows:
Section 8.05. PLANNING DEPARTMENT
1 . Reallocatea
position of Planner V SR 24 to Planner VI

SR-26.
The new position is justified on the basis that the development
activity in West Hawaii (South Kona/North Kohala) represents the
majority of the County' s development-related activity and the
increased workload as it relates to both the Planning Department 's
services in general and to West Hawaii in particular . The
re-evaluation of its duties and responsibilities indicate that
reallocation to Class Planner VI SR-26 would be more appropriate.
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter, interim amendments
to the Pay Plan may be made by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 236-87 and recommends iadoption.
