Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 285, reports as
follows :
Bill 285 proposes to amend Ordinance 86-63, the Operating Budget for
Fiscal Year 1986-87 , by increasing the General Fund Fund Balance from
Previous Year by $6, 500 and appropriating same to P&R-Aquatics-S&W.
The purpose of Bill 285 is to provide the funds to enable the
Department of Parks and Recreation to extend the swimming hours at
the Pahala Swimming Pool . The funds will provide additional
lifeguard services necessary to extend the daily hours.
Finance Committee Report 222, approved October 15 , 1986 , recommended
that the Council support the administration in funding the lifeguard
position at the Pahala Swimming Pool , upon certification of the
forthcoming fund balance.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose of
Bill 285 and recommends that it pass first reading .
