Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 273, reports as
follows :
Bill 273 proposes to amend Ordinance 86-63, the Operating Budget for
Fiscal Year 1986-87 , by increasing the General Fund Fund Balance from
Previous Year by $250,000 and appropriating funds to the Solid Waste
Program - Hilo Landfill Improvements ($150,000) and Miscellaneous
Equipment ($100,000) .
The purpose of Bill 273 is to appropriate
$75,000 for 3 hydraulic power units to be permanently installed
at 3 transfer stations,
$25,000 for safety equipment to be installed on all refuse
trailers , and
$150,000 for various improvements to comply with DOH Permit
No. SW-185191 .
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose of
Bill 273 and recommends that it pass first reading .
