Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 227-86,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution 227-86 is to approve the lease of Stall #D
at the Kealakekua Ranch Shopping Center in Captain Cook, Kona, for
the Family Support Division of the Corporation Counsel ' s Office.
The leasing of the space will enable the Family Support Division, a
State-subsidized program, to better serve Hawaii County citizens .
In committee discussion, the Corporation Counsel explained that the
proposed rental space encompasses an area of 850 square feet and that
the lease was negotiated as follows :
1st year $1 . 35 per square foot
• 2nd & 3rd years $1 .09 per square foot
4th & 5th years $ .65 per square foot
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter , any contract , lease
or obligation requiring payment in future fiscal years or more than
one fiscal year shall be approved by resolution .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 227-86 and recommends its a ption. •
