Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication 786 ,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication 786 is to confirm or deny the
appointment of Ms . Beatrice L. Lau to the Pension Board .
An independent from Hilo, Ms . Lau will serve through December 31,
1991 , filling the vacancy of Ms . Harriet Haruguchi whose term expires
on December 31 , 1986 .
Pursuant to Sections 5-3. 4 and 13-4 of the Hawaii County Charter ,
members of the Pension Board shall be appointed by the Mayor and
confirmed by the Council .
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval of the appointment of
Ms . Beatrice L. Lau to the Pension Board .
