Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication/775,
reports as follows:
The purpose of Communication 775 from Parks & Recreation Director
Patricia Engelhard is to recommend acceptance of a donation of $150
from the Al-Anon Group and both Friday and Monday AA Groups.
The groups have donated the monies in appreciation for the use of
the Pahoa Community Center for their meetings and have pledged the
monies toward the construction of an outdoor basketball court at the
Center .
Pursuant to Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter , the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donation .
Your Committee on Finance recommends acceptance of the donation and
that a letter of appreciation be forwarded to the Friday AA Group,
Monday AA Group, and the Al-Anon group for their generous
contribution.
