Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 206-86,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution 206-86 is to amend the Salary Ordinance as
follows:
FEDERAL/STATE/COUNTY-PROJECT FUNDED POSITIONS (EXHIBIT B)
Section 8.03. FAMILY SUPPORT DIVISION. OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION
COUNSEL
1 . Reallocate one position of Legal Stenographer SR-14 to
Senior Legal Stenographer SR-16 .
The reallocation is recommended because the new duties required of
the incumbent are at a higher level . The reallocation is qualified
because there are no other positions in the family support division
at a higher level to which the duties can be assigned .
In committee discussion, the Corporation Counsel explained that the
monies for the reallocation would come from State funds . The vacancy
of a Kona position would afford him the opportunity to provide
interim payments to the employee from his salary and wages account
until the funds are released from the State.
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Pay Plan may be made by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 206-86 and recomme d its adoption.
