Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 204-86,
reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution 204-86 is to amend the Salary Ordinance as
follows:
FEDERAL AND STATE FUNDED POSITIONS (EXHIBIT A)
Section 8.15 . OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
Add: Drug Task Force Unit (State Funded )
1 . Add one position of Deputy Prosecuting Attorney LG-1 .
2 . Add one position of Legal Stenographer SR-14.
The deputy prosecutor 's position and the legal stenographer 's
position will staff part of a drug task team. Funding of the
positions shall come from the State. Approval for the additional
staffing have already been approved by the State Attorney General 's
Office .
In committee discussion, the committee 's concern over the funding of
the two new positions in the upcoming fiscal year was quelled when it
was explained that the funding for the positions would be determined
by the Council based on the performance of the unit .
Pursuant to Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter , interim amendments
to the Pay Plan may be made by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance concurs_.),Lith the intent of
Resolution 204-86 and r ommend its adoption.
