Re: Agreement with the State Department of Hawaiian Home Lands
Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement with the State Department of
Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL). This agreement is for DHHL to reimburse the County
$400,000 for the conversion of street lights on State Hawaiian Home Lands from low
pressure sodium (LPS) to light emitting diode (LED).

A. REQUEST:
A resolution, authorizing the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the State Department
of Hawaiian Homes (DHHL) for the purpose of LED street light conversion on State Hawaiian Home Lands.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
This agreement with the DHHL pays cost of$400,000 related to the LED street light conversion on State
Hawaiian Home Lands. This LED Conversion program reimburses the County for the conversion work done
on DHHL lands.
