Subject: Public Works/Parks/Recreation Committee: Support public shooting range Res. 246-17
Dear Committee Members,
Please support the resolution (246-17) to create a public shooting
range on the Big Island.
There are a large number of firearms owners on the Big Island.
Currently they have no absolutely legal place to learn and practice
firearm safety and develop their skills and practice using firearms
on the Big Island. We should have a legal location to safely use
firearms for recreational purposes.
Not only would such a facility benefit Big Island residents, but it
would no doubt attract people from other islands and possibly even
the mainland as a recreational facility, thus possibly enhancing the
business climate of the island.
Please do what you can to help firearm enthusiasts safely engage
in their sport by moving forward the necessary legislation.
