Subject: Shooting range
We are in favor of resolution 246-17 supporting a shooting range for the county of Hawaii. We have hunting
opportunities, and we have hunting classes, and hunting licenses...but we do not have a shooting range where
we can actually practice with our firearms. A legal and properly accessible shooting range would be a great
benefit for those acquiring firearms for personal protection as well as for those who want to shoot as a sport of
marksmanship. Where do our police practice their skills? I hope they are not shooting towards the ocean!
Please give the law abiding people of this island a place where they can practice their shooting skills without
fear of hurting anyone. Learning the proper gun safety rules and habits from the beginning is critical in keeping
everyone safe.
