Subject: Support For Public Shooting Range
Dear Hawaii County Council Members and All Other Interested Parties,
My name is Ray Nakamura and I am a lifelong resident of East Hawaii. I am writing in support of a public shooting range
in Hawaii County.
Currently there is no legal and safe facility to shoot pistols and long guns.We have swimming pools, a golf course,all
sorts of athletic fields and gyms that support a very wide range of recreational and competitive sports. We even have a
public archery range and a skeet and trap range. Unfortunately we have no safe and legal facility to shoot pistols and
long guns. I believe a range will provide a safe and legal place to shoot firearms and will be well utilized by many
hunters, recreational and target shooters, and law enforcement personnel as well. It is my belief that the vast majority
of people who will use the range will be more than willing to pay per use, much like the Hilo Municipal Golf Course.
Thank you very much for your consideration in this matter and I hope some progress can be made in a timely manner.
