RE: County Council Resolution 246-17
Public Shooting Range.
Dear Committee Members on Parks and Recreation and Public Works
The Hawaii Hunting-Association strongly supports Resolution 246-17!
There are thousands of gun owners resident in the County of Hawaii no legal
place to shoot them. The development of a public run shooting facility or
facilities mitigates or solves a host of undesirable situations as a result.
Practice and Training. I have been a firearms instructor since 1992 and it
doesn't matter whether you are a police recruit, a police officer, a home owner
or just a firearms owner and enthusiast, training and recurrency training and
practice are necessary for safe firearms handling and readiness.
A Shooting facility adds to the potential safety of homeowners and it adds to
the economics of the Island by giving safe and readily available place and
opportunity for recreation, practice and training.
Shooting is a family sport enjoyed by family members for a lifetime. Having a
County Facility that meets accepted standards for environmental concerns,
safety, and noise, assures our residents that they will have this lifetime
available for these activities.
The Hawaii Hunting Association heartily supports this Resolution.
Much Aloha,
