Now that the State of Hawaii has dropped the ball on supporting a shooting range on the island of Hawaii this is an
opportunity for the council to begin the process. Sales of firearms are skyrocketing, yet there is no public facility for gun
owners and their families to safely practice and zero-in their firearms. Besides benefiting the general public our local
police department also needs a dedicated facility.
There are highly qualified residents of the Big Island who are willing to help plan, build and manage such a facility. They
have the background and experience needed for adequate planning and running a successful shooting range.
