Aloha,
I support the Shooting Facility Measure Resolution 246-17. Hilo is in need a facility to educate sportsmen,
hunters, and citizens of proper gun safety and familiarization. We have a large hunting population here in
Hawaii. Each of us need to zero-in our weapons to ensure our weapons shoot straight. Currently we have
areas that we can practice shooting, but not with the same caliber/weapons we are hunting with. The area we
are referring to is on the side of Saddle Road after mile marker 19. Also, with the increasing population of
tourist and locals, we find that the number of hunter/hiker interactions will continue to increase. Accuracy is
important! And in the interest of public safety Hawaii needs a shooting facility.
