Your Committee on Finance , to which was referred Resolution 180-86 ,
reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution 180-86 is to transfer $7,500 from the
General Fund 's Contingency Account #010-911-5911 .13-341 and credit
same to Account #010-161-5161 .60-115 , Tourism Promotion (Misc.
Contract Services ) .

The funds are needed to pay our pro rata share of a joint visitor
promotion effort with Maui and Kauai Counties. The advertising
campaign is in conjunction with the Japan Airlines ' promotion which
targets the outer islands as destinations . The promotion includes
distribution of a travel magazine entitled "Passport to Paradise"
which will be printed in Japanese.
Pursuant to Section 10-9, Hawaii County Charter , the Council , by
resolution , may transfer part or all of any unencumbered
appropriation balance .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 180-86 and recommends its adoption .
