Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 170 , reports as
follows:
The purpose of Bill 170 is to amend Ordinance 85-52, the Operating
Budget, by increasing revenues by $6 ,000 in the General Fund's
Account #3304.20 , State Grants - Ahi Burn Study, and appropriate same
to Account #010-161-5162.61-115 , Ahi Burn Study - Contract with
University of Hawaii .
During discussion, the committee requested information from the
Research and Development Department regarding a past tuna burn
study. This study would be two-fold and would address both tuna burn
and "state of art" handling of tuna.
Pursuant to Section 10-8 , Hawaii County Charter , the Council, by
ordinance, may make. supplemental appropriations for the year up to
the amount of available revenues.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Bill 170 and
recommends that it pass first reading.
