your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 39, reports as follows:
Bill No. 39, transmitted jointly
with Bill No. 40 by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via
Communication No. 164,
dated February 18, 1999, amends Ordinance No. 98-50, as amended, the Capital
Budget ending June 30, 1999. The amendment is as follows:
PUBLIC WORKS
Mamalahoa Highway Improvements (Kamamalu Street to Lindsey Road) [$4009000] $1,000,00

Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
Federal Grants Receivable
$600,000
The additional funds are to cover unforeseen roadway conditions and the existing obstruction of
underground utilities.
Your Committee on Finance is in
accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 39 and recommends it
pass first reading.
