Your Committee on Finance , to which was referred Communication 490 ,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication 490 is to confirm or deny the
appointment of Mr . Reginald T. Morimoto to the Police Commission .
A resident of Kona, with independent political affiliation ,
Mr . Morimoto will be replacing Mr . Taka Fujitani whose term has
expired.
Pursuant to Section 7-2. 2 and Section 13-4 of the Hawaii County
Charter , the Police Commission shall consist of one member from the
combined districts of North and South Kona and not more than a bare
majority of the members shall belong to the same political party .
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval of the appointment of
Mr . Reginald T. Morimoto to the Police Commission , for a term to
expire December 31, 1990 .
