Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred resolution 118-86 ,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution 118-86 is to promote a planned course of
action in distributing the slaughtered beef outside the State of
Hawaii to protect an already depressed beef market.
The resolution expresses concern for the large amounts of beef that
will suddenly be on the market and the potential negative impact on
beef prices after the implementation of the slaughter .
In committee discussion, concern of attracting too much attention to
this matter was cited as potentially creating further problems by the
Federal Government imposing a similar program statewide.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 118-86 and recommends its adoption .
