Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 117-86,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution 117-86 is to authorize the Department of
Finance to refund monies relating to an overpayment of taxes by
Mr . Gilbert Lee .
Pursuant to Section 19-3 (a) (12) , Hawaii County Code, any compromise
agreement in excess of $500 must be approved by the Council by
resolution.
In committee discussion, it was clarified that the amount agreed upon
is full payment and no further monies in this settlement will be
required.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Resolution 117-86 and recommends its adoption .
