reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication 256 is to confirm or reject the
appointment by Mayor Dante K. Carpenter of
Mrs . Elizabeth K. "Liz " Ah Chin of Hilo to the Pension Board, for a
term to expire December 31 , 1989 . She replaces Mrs . Elaine Kono
whose term has expired.
Pursuant to Sections 5-3. 4 and 13-4(b ) of the Hawaii County Charter ,
board and commission members shall be appointed by the Mayor and
confirmed by the Council .
Your Committee on Finance has interviewed Mrs . Ah Chin and recommends
approval of her appointment to the Pension Board .
