Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 62, reports
as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 62 is to amend Ordinance 85-52, the Operating
Budget, by increasing revenues in the General Fund account
(Contribution from Private Sources ) by $1,500 and appropriate same to
the General Fund 's Fire Protection - OCE account .
The $1,500 donation from Chevron U.S.A. , Inc. , is expressly intended
for training purposes at the Western Oil and Gas Association Fire
Protection School . The two-week course will primarily address the
controlling of tank farm fires which may prove beneficial in
protecting our wharf area.
Pursuant 'to Section 10-8 of the Hawaii County Charter , relating to
Supplementary Appropriations, after the Mayor 's certification of
available funds, the Council, by ordinance, effective immediately,
may make supplemental appropriations up to the amount of available
revenues .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Bill 62 and
recommends that it pass first reading.
