Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication 231,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication 231 was further clarified in committee-
discussion. According to. Mr. Greg Mooers, Deputy Managing Director ,
the purpose of this new lease is to centrally locate the Departments
of Information & Complaints, Finance, Public Works and his office in
the First Federal Business Plaza in Kailua-Kona. Currently being
negotiated is a 5-year lease with an additional 5 years available
upon renegotiation. Negotiations were commenced on the lesser of
two informal bids which have been submitted.
Pursuant .to Section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter, any contract
or lease requiring payments of appropriations of more than one
fiscal year shall be made by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval , subject to Council
review of cost breakdown resulting from these negotiations with
regard to Communication 231 .
