Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred /Communication 168,
reports as follows:
The purpose of Communication 168 is to confirm or reject the
appointment by Mayor Dante K. Carpenter of Mr . William Mitchell to
the Tax Review Board, for a term to expire December 31, 1989. A
resident of Kamuela, Mr. Mitchell will be replacing
Mr . Melvin Martinson whose term has expired.
Pursuant to Section 19-96, Hawaii County Code, and Section 13-4(b) ,
Hawaii County Charter , board and commission members shall be
appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council .
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval of the appointment of
Mr . William Mitchell to the Tax Review Board and requests his
presence at the Council meeting at 'which confirmation is to be held.
