Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication 160,
reports as follows:
The purpose of Communication 160 is to confirm the appointment by
Mayor Dante K. Carpenter of Mr . Melvin Kaneshiro to the Liquor
Control Adjudication Board. A resident of Kohala, Mr . Kaneshiro will
replace Margaret Fuchino whose term has expired. Mr . Kaneshiro 's
term will expire on December 31, 1989 .
Pursuant to Section 7-3.3 and 13-4(b) of the Hawaii County Charter ,
board and commission members shall be appointed by the Mayor and
confirmed by the Council .
Your Committee on Finance, after review, recommends approval of the
appointment of Mr . Melvin Kaneshiro to the Liquor Control
Adjudication Board and requests his presence at the Council meeting
at which confirmation is to be held.
