Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication 158,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication 158 is to confirm the appointment by
Mayor Dante K. Carpenter of Ms . Shirley Lewis to the Board of
Ethics . A resident of Captain Cook, Ms . Lewis will replace
Stanford Barcase, who has resigned. Ms . Lewis ' term will expire on
December 31, 1988.
Pursuant to Sections 13-4(b ) and 14-5 of the Hawaii County Charter,
board and commission members shall be appointed by the Mayor and
confirmed by the Council .
Your Committee on Finance, after review, recommends approval of the
appointment of Ms . Shirley Lewis to the Board of Ethics and requests
her presence at the Council meeting at which confirmation is to be
held.
