Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication 116,
reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication 116 is to approve or deny the cost item
report for the new contract of Unit 11 (Fire Fighters) . The contract
calls for an across-the-board increase of 5 percent on July 1, 1985
and an additional across-the-board increase of 5 percent on
July 1, 1986 . Because no settlement has been reached on medical
costs, Unit 11 reserves the right to pick the best settlement by the
other units.
Pursuant to Section 89-10 (b) , Hawaii Revised Statutes, the
legislative body may approve or reject the cost items submitted to
them as a whole.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of
Communication 116 and recommends its approval .
