Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred 'Bill 42; reports as
follows:
The purpose of Bill 42 is to amend Ordinance 84-32, the Capital
Budget for FY 84-85 , by adding the Kalaniai Road Channel Project . As
was discussed on the committee floor , the funding of $187,550 will
come from the USDA .Soil Conservation Service. The total project cost
amounts to $252,420 .
In response to Councilman Domingo' s concerns, the Finance Chairman
assured him that the County ' s share of $64 ,870 will be provided by
funds already encumbered through the Hamakua Road and Drainage
appropriations .
Pursuant to Section 10-6 of the Hawaii County Charter , the Council,
by ordinance and two thirds affirmative vote, may amend the capital
budget for the year .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Bill 42 and
recommends that it pass first reading .
