Your Committee on Finance , to which was referred Bill 23 , reports as
follows:
The purpose of Bill 23 is to amend Ordinance 84-31, the Operating
Budget , by increasing revenues in the General Fund by $2,845 .20 and
appropriating this sum to the Public Works Construction Inspection
Equipment Account .
This sum is a reimbursement for a car insurance settlement resulting
from an accident to CH-519 which monies were received and desposited .
By the passage of Bill 1147 on December 18 , 1984 , $5 ,000 has been
appropriated to cover the additional costs for replacement of CH-519 .
In compliance with Section 10-8 of the Hawaii County Charter ,
relating to Appropriations: Supplemental and Emergency. When during
any fiscal year there are available any funds for appropriation, the
mayor shall certify to the county council and the county council may
amend or make supplemental appropriations for the year up to the
amount of available revenues .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Bill 23 and
recommends that it pass first reading .
