Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 17 ,
reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution 17 is to authorize the lease-purchase of
seven new modems and to assure that sufficient funds are budgeted in
the future fiscal years to cover the obligation of the County under
the lease agreement .
The seven new 9600 QP modems will cost $129 .86 per month , per unit .
We are currently leasing five older , less efficient models for
$300 .65 per month per unit. The additional two modems being
requested are for the Captain Cook Police Station and the
Captain Cook Driver License Office .
The lease-purchase agreement is for a 36-month term with an option to
purchase at $1 per unit . The lease-purchase payments will amount to
$32,727 .04 over the three years .
Pursuant to Section 10-11 , Payments and Obligations Prohibited,
Hawaii County Charter , any contract , lease or other obligation
requiring the payment of funds from appropriations of a later fiscal
year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made or approved by
resolution .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution 17
and recommends its adoption .
