Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication 29,
reports as follows :
Communication 29 is a letter from Fire Chief Francis E. Smith
informing of the donation of a JVC video cassette recorder ($650
value) to Hawaii County from Thomas N. Beach, a firefighter at the
Waimea Fire Station .
Pursuant to Section 13-12, Acceptance of Gifts and Donations, Hawaii
County Charter , the Council may accept gifts and donations on behalf
of the County.
Your Committee on Finance recommends acceptance of the donation and
recommends that the Council Chairman transmit a letter of
appreciation to Mr . Beach .
